On Lap 11 of the 28-lap race, Premat lost control and veered off the circuit – sliding helplessly across the grass – before re-entering the racing line and colliding with Courtney. The rear of Premat’s car slammed into Courtney’s driver side door, lifting both cars off the ground.
Premat immediately jumped from his car to assist Courtney, who needed to be pulled out through the passenger’s side.
Courtney managed to limp away from the scene with help from the medical crew and was later cleared of serious injuries.
Here’s a look at the damage Courtney’s Holden suffered in the wreck:

Seeing that kind of carnage and having both drivers escape with no serious injuries is a true testament to the safety of these cars.

You know what after all that happened today it’s great to see James Courtney walk out of what could have been a horrible accident.
