Saturday’s American Le Mans Series race at Virginia International Raceway saw a massive shunt just past the halfway mark when contact between Eduardo Cisneros and Marco Holzer sent Cisneros’ Porsche 911 into a barrel roll.
Cisneros and Holzer were racing side-by-side through the esses when a collision pushed Cisneros off track and into the barrier. Consequently, the hard impact sent Cisneros rolling end-over-end down the barriers.
Track marshals and TV crews were forced to take cover as the Porsche somersaulted through the air, ultimately coming to rest on top of a set of tire barriers.
Everyone was OK, including Cisneros who walked away under his own power.
