F1: Reports Of A Secret Red Bull, Renault Test Begin To Circulate

Germany’s Bild newspaper claims the reigning World Champion team, Racing, is alleged to have tested indoors at the Austrian company AVL’s rolling road facility in Graz, Austria.

A six-day test, involving Red Bull’s troubled engine supplier , reportedly occurred between the last preseason track test in Bahrain and the start of the season in Australia.

Jean-Eric Vergne has been given a 10-place grid penalty for an unsafe release in FP2, while Toro Rosso has been given a €30,000 fine.

The Frenchman lost a rear wheel immediately after leaving the pits towards the end of FP2.

The engines endured mixed fortunes on Friday in Australia as the French manufacturer showed that it is working its way out of its problems.

While RBR and Toro Rosso had relatively troublefree days, both and faced huge problems, although not all were entirely due to the power unit. However the mileage achieved by the other teams was a big plus.

Italy’s authoritative Autosprint reports that Red Bull has asked the Faenza based sister team for assistance on the all-new ‘brake by wire’ technology, which is tied in with the highly-sophisticated ‘ERS’ systems.
