Two familiar faces will return to the 450cc gate at this Saturday, both riding Hondas, and both having been sidelined from the Monster Energy Series for several weeks due to injuries.

GEICO Motorcycle rider Eli Tomac has missed the last three events due to a shoulder injury, while factory Honda rider has been out for the first 12 rounds after breaking his arm while practicing last Thanksgiving.

“I’m really looking forward to getting back out there and racing with all these guys each week,” said Canard. “I’ve been riding a lot at home in Oklahoma, and the Honda team came out and did some testing with me last week.

“I feel really good and my CRF450R is working awesome. However, I expect it will take a little while to get up to full race speed, but I will give 100 percent effort regardless.”

While Canard is still wary of his injuries, Tomac says that he feels better than he did before; troubling for the others considering he already has three top 10 finishes in his rookie season.

“I’m 100 percent and ready to go racing,” Tomac said. “I put in a lot of hard work to come back, riding as much as I can over these last few weeks. We’ve done a lot of work on my GEICO Honda, too, and it’s right where I want it.”
