Monster Energy Kawasaki Team Green appears to be the team to beat at Anaheim 3 with their riders claiming the top qualifying spots. Ryan Villopoto set the fastest time in the 450 Class while Dean Wilson was nearly a second quicker than his 250 Class rivals.

Ryan Villopoto led wire-to-wire in Saturday night’s 450SX Main Event to grab his second of the 2014 Monster Energy Supercross season.

After assuming the lead on the first lap, the Kawasaki ace managed a comfortable lead throughout the 20-lap feature and cruised to an easy win over by a margin of 4.235 seconds.

Fittingly, a legend of the sport of won during the championship’s landmark 40th anniversary celebration. ’s first in almost exactly two years was long awaited and some weren’t sure if he’d ever get there again. However, Reed proved the doubters wrong with a vintage Reed performance that has become one of the most popular wins in a long time.

Each week, The Power Rankings will recognize the movers and shakers in Monster Energy Supercross. Rookie Ken Roczen returns to the top of the rankings this week thanks to his return to the podium that also helped him reclaim the red plate as the series points leader.

SX: Reed Powers To Impressive Victory At Anaheim 2

In front of 40,682 fans at Angel Stadium in Anaheim, Calif., Chad Reed became the third rider in as many races to capture a 450SX main event win this season.

On a night celebrating past champions of the sport, it was only fitting for Reed – the 2004 and 2008 Supercross Champion – to make a late-race pass on another two-time series Champion James Stewart for the win.
