Today IndyCar is hosting its annual preseason media day at the Amway Center in Orlando as preparations continue for the 2014 IndyCar Series season which kicks off March 30 with the Firestone Grand Prix of St. Petersburg.

We will keep you up to date with driver commentary about this exciting event. The following lists approximate times for driver press conferences through out the day:

IndyCar: Briscoe Joins Ganassi, Kanaan Takes Over Franchitti’s Vacated Target Seat

Chip Ganassi Racing Teams (CGRT) and NTT DATA, a leading global IT services provider, announced today they have signed veteran and seven-time winner Ryan Briscoe to drive the No. 8 NTT DATA Chevrolet in the Series.

Along with the signing of Briscoe, will move into the seat vacated by four-time IndyCar Series Champion and three-time Winner in the No. 10 Target Chevrolet. Kanaan will run alongside three-time and reigning IndyCar Series Champion and Winner as part of Team Target.

ALMS: Level 5 Takes P2 Win, Clinches Title At VIR

Level 5 Motorsports locked up its third consecutive P2 teams’ championship Saturday with a dominant run in Saturday’s Oak Tree Grand Prix at Virginia International Raceway.

Ryan Briscoe took the No. 551 HPD ARX-03b to a 13.464-second win over the No. 01 Extreme Speed Motorsports entry of Scott Sharp, who finished in second.

The two similarly prepared cars enjoyed an early race battle, in the hands of and Anthony Lazzaro, with the Level 5 team owner losing the lead to the ESM entry just past the 40-minute mark.

Infield Road Course Test A Success For IndyCar

Wednesday’s test on the infield road course at appears to have been a success on all fronts.

Testing multiple configurations throughout the day, IndyCar and speedway officials were looking to learn more in advance of a possible $100 million upgrade to the facility, as well as an additional IndyCar race on the course to kick off the month of May.

When all was said and done, it seems everyone walked away from the test optimistic that not only could IndyCar pull off a race on the infield road course, but it would create exciting racing.
