This week, the Repsol Honda Team will head to Honda’s home circuit in Motegi hoping to put behind them last week’s black-flag incident involving championship leader Marc Marquez. Second-place Australian GP finisher Dani Pedrosa, will be hoping to continue his run of success at the Twin Ring Motegi, having won there the past two seasons.

Honda has fitted a carbon fiber protector for the rear wheel speed sensor and cable in the wake of last week’s dramatic collision between factory riders Marc Marquez and Dani Pedrosa.

The small protecter plate is designed to avoid the freak circumstances that triggered Pedrosa’s high-side crash at Aragon.

Marquez Friendly Fire Raises Honda Tensions

Rookie sensation Marc Marquez took control of the MotoGP world championship with victory in the Aragon Grand Prix but at a high cost to team harmony within the Repsol Honda squad.

And only time will tell if a post-race apology by Marquez to his bruised and battered teammate Dani Pedrosa will be enough to heal a widening rift.

Pedrosa was unforgiving in his assessment that Marquez’s aggressive, high-risk late braking style is over the limit.
