Report: Aprilia to return to MotoGP for 2015 season with Bautista

According to Spanish newspaper Marca, Aprilia are planning to participate in MotoGP next year, as opposed to a previously proposed 2016 arrival date.

With significant technical changes in the premier class coming into effect as of 2016, Marca report that Aprilia want to accelerate their MotoGP project in an attempt to be competitive as soon as possible.

Ducati Team rider Cal Crutchlow has confirmed that he will stay with the Italian factory in 2015, where he will continue riding alongside Andrea Dovizioso.

At the World Ducati Week 2014 event at Misano on Saturday, Crutchlow attended a press conference alongside the likes of MotoGP Project Director Paolo Ciabatti and Ducati Corse General Manager Luigi Dall’Igna.

At the WDW 2014 event being held at Misano World Circuit this weekend, Andrea Dovizioso and Ducati announced that they will continue together for 2015 and 2016.

During a press conference at the Italian circuit, Dovizioso and Ducati Motor Holding Director Claudio Domenicali gave the details of the rider’s new two-year agreement with the Borgo Panigale factory.

Repsol Honda Team riders Marc Marquez and Dani Pedrosa have come to the end of this week’s test session at Brno. Over the course of three days, the two Spaniards tested their 2014 bike as well as debuting the new 2015 machine.

On Thursday, both riders finished testing at lunch time, with Pedrosa racking up a further 16 laps on the 2014 bike. In the case of World Champion Marquez, he put in 41 laps on the current bike plus a further five on next year’s version.

Cal Crutchlow underwent successful surgery on both arms on Tuesday in Barcelona at the Universitario Quiron Dexeus Hospital.

Crutchlow stayed at the hospital overnight on Tuesday and will head back to England on Wednesday having had surgery to relieve arm pump (compartment syndrome) on both forearms. Specialist Dr. Xavier Mir undertook the operation.
