Mere hours after it was made official that fellow contender Davi Millsaps suffered an injury while testing for the upcoming 2014 Monster Energy Supercross season, Team Honda Muscle Milk issued a press release stating that Trey Canard will miss the opening rounds of the championship after breaking his arm over the Thanksgiving holiday.
Canard underwent successful surgery Tuesday and will immediately begin rehabilitation in hopes of getting back into competition ASAP.
“Of course we are disappointed that Trey will miss the opening rounds of the 2014 SX season,” said Honda Racing Director Ray Conway in the release. “He has been going really fast at all our pre-season test sessions. We all know how hard Trey will work to get back as soon as he can, and the whole team can’t wait for his return.”

Instead, it was Team Belgium, arguably the biggest threat to the U.S. coming into the event, that prevailed to claim its 15th MXoN crown, its first since 2004, with Team USA following just three points behind in second.

The 67th edition of the best off road event of the year is ready to start at Teutschenthal, Germany. The 2013 Monster Energy FIM Motocross of Nations is very much awaited because Team Germany will defend the Chamberlain Trophy on home soil, but Team USA, Team Belgium or Team France – just to mention a few – are thirsty for victory and they also want to conquer the so precious Trophy.
The Monster Energy FIM Motocross of Nations has forty-one nations entered, which is the highest number of countries entered in the History of the event, with new entries such as Israel, but only the best twenty countries will take part in the final heats on Sunday.
