There will be three days of track time for the Moto2 and Moto3 riders from February 18th-20th at Jerez, with plenty of testing to be undertaken before the 2014 season gets underway.

In the Moto2 class the frontrunners from the February 11th-13th Valencia test will aim to outpace each other again, with the chasing pack looking to match the level of Marc VDS Racing Team’s Esteve Rabat.

Renault took advantage of “promotional event” running by Lotus in Jerez to put some miles on the latest updates introduced since it had problems in the group test at the same venue.

Lotus had two 100kms days available under the FIA sporting regulations, although the first on Friday was wasted when the E22 did only one lap. However, the maximum mileage was achieved on Saturday.

Nico Rosberg has done more mileage than any other driver in a 2014 car thus far, having topped the laps completed charts at Jerez last week.

He already enjoyed a head start after he shook down the Mercedes at a filming day at Silverstone the previous Friday.

“Definitely I think it’s a surprise to do so many laps,” said Rosberg. “It’s such a mission with this new technology and everything, and really to get this reliability so early on is really a positive. But we’ve got no idea where we are in terms of pace and all that. So it’s really early days.

Ten of the 11 Formula 1 teams were in action this week at Jerez for the first preseason test of 2014. While the four-day test allowed teams to gather data and adjust to the new cars and technical regulations, it also gave fans an opportunity to see the new-for-2014 cars on track.

Here’s a look at each team on track, with the exception of Lotus. The Enstone-based squad decided to sit out the Jerez test to continue development of their E22. Technical Director Nick Chester believes the team will be ready for the next preseason test in Bahrain on Feb. 19-22.
