Photographer Mark J. Rebilas was in the perfect position to capture this harrowing shot of Pro Mod NHRA driver Tim Tindle’s crash during the Chevrolet Performance U.S. Nationals at Lucas Oil Raceway on September 1.
Update: Photographer Mark J. Rebilas has posted additional photos of Tim Tindle’s crash here.
During his run against Troy Coughlin, Tindle struck the left-side barrier approaching the finish line. Immediately on impact, Tindle’s modified Camaro lifted, then tumbled violently over the track wall and finally came to a halt off the course.
Amazingly when the debris and dust settled, Tindle exited the car without assistance.Cars, Drag Racing, Indianapolis, Lucas Oil, NHRA, Tim Tindle
