The long wait is over. The 12th annual Barrett-Jackson Palm Beach Collector Car Auction is ready to roll with 21 hours of television coverage on the FOX family of networks.
This year’s docket is hugely impressive, with about 550 vehicles of shapes, sizes and price ranges.

LOT 3001, 1969 OLDSMOBILE 442

Linda Vaughn, the legendary Hurst Miss Golden Shifter, is here this weekend, as she often is at Barrett-Jackson auctions, and there’s a very special car going across the block today at around 4:30 p.m. ET. It’s a 1969 Oldsmobile 442 convertible Hurst Shifter car replica built by Thornton Motors Inc. of Bucks County, PA with guidance from legendary Hurst engineer “Doc” Watson. The Thornton family specializes in world-class Oldsmobile restorations, with one of their 442s selling here last year for an eye-popping $275,000.
