The dark clouds looming over the Circuits of The Americas today may look like a small ray of hope for the bulk of the field, at least compared to the prospect of Marc Marquez riding off into the sunset.

Marquez has been in imperious form this weekend at the circuit he scored his first-ever MotoGP victory one year ago. Two-time MotoGP World Champion has taken on an unusual demeanor this weekend. Seeming beyond frustration, the Yamaha ace is carrying himself with a calm sense of resignation. Rival isn’t a realistic target at the moment. Beating his teammate, , scratching his way to the podium, and securing maximum points given the circumstances — those are the goals Lorenzo can focus on this weekend at the Circuit of the Americas.

Last season when Marc Marquez rolled into the Circuit of the Americas, he was still the new kid on the block and just hoping to make an impression.

Sure, he had long been touted as ’s next great one, but at this time last year, he was all potential and hype but still yet to have won anything in the premier class.
