For the first time in 15 years, the Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship, sanctioned by AMA Pro Racing, will make a stop in the Southeast for the inaugural running of the Built Ford Tough Tennessee National. Taking place this Saturday, June 1, at the historic Muddy Creek Raceway in Blountville, Tenn., the highly anticipated Round 3 is sure to bring excitement to race fans throughout the south.

Muddy Creek Raceway has played host to some of the largest amateur motocross events in the country, making the third stop on the Lucas Oil Pro Motocross tour somewhat familiar to many of the racers who grew up competing in the amateur ranks. Although the facility has undergone many changes to accommodate the Nationals, its natural-terrain, great dirt and rolling hills will showcase all the components that have made Muddy Creek Raceway such a successful venue over the years.

Rosberg Finally Turns Pole Into Victory

At the third time of asking in 2013, Nico Rosberg turned a pole position into victory as he scored his second career Grand Prix win in Monaco.

Rosberg’s success comes 30 years after his father won the same race for Williams.

“It is special to hear that, yes, but honestly, that’s not what I was thinking about when I was crossing the finishing line, definitely not,” he said. “I’m just extremely happy to win this race. Also, we’ve had again such a difficult time behind us — in the last couple of races pole position and dropping back so much.

“There was always that a little bit in the back of my mind today in the race, ‘I hope that it’s going to last and I’ll be able to pull it off today and not drop back again,’ because it’s not nice when you’re starting in front and dropping back.

“And then today the team gave me a great car. It’s really fantastic to see how they’ve been able to improve in such a short space of time. Little improvement here and there, but this track suited us, anyway, and so it was enough to make it happen.”

Felipe Massa maintained his improved 2013 form with third place in Spain, having overcome an impeding penalty that dropped him from sixth to ninth on the grid.

The Brazilian driver gained two spots on the first lap as he worked his way into a podium position.

“I think I am a bit disappointed for what’s happening yesterday,” he said. “These things happen many times and no penalties happen, so I’m disappointed with that. I didn’t cause any issues for him [Webber] in the qualifying, so I’m disappointed for that.
